User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars How to draw simply helps to expand a child’s creative abilities
I found Ed Emberley’s drawing books when my children were little. Wow, what fun, what a huge help to children! It is such fun to excite children to learn how to do something they do not know - how to draw is one of those extra special gifts! Drawing is a life long skill, often underrated. Ed Emberley’s drawing books are the best drawing tool for helping children to expand their creative abilities.
5 Stars What every young artist needs
Ed Emberley’s books are great for all ages. I bought the Trucks and Trains book for my 4 year old grandson. It was an instant hit. The shapes are simple, instructions are easy to follow. It’s a definite confidence builder for budding artists.
5 Stars Awesome book
Ed Emberly’s books are so great. If your child can follow visual directions and draw a line, circle and color in, then he or she can draw these things. My son is five and can draw these. He is quite smart and loves trains and trucks, so those are probably factors. When he isn’t drawing from the book, he loves to look at it. Great for boys.
5 Stars Well used
This book is well used in our house. My son received this book when he was 3. When he first got it we would try the drawings together. He is now 6 and still loves this book. He follows the steps by himself now and tries it on his own without the book. His sister is 4 and is beginning to draw on her own with the help of this book. We recently ordered the Drawing Book of Faces and Drawing Book of Animals. I am sure it will also be well used and loved in our house.
2 Stars Not for a five year old
I bought this book for my five year old boy. Based on the description, it sounded age appropriate. However, it was a little advanced for him so we returned it. Maybe better for eight and up.
